boys are getting older

12.16.06 my life was forever changed by the birth of our first son, Tyler. 02.28.08 our lives were filled with more 

joy by the birth of our second blessing, Colton. 

{you boys will always know, feel, see & believe in love because of your dad & I} we love you more 

than anyone knows is possible. Happy Birthday {SUNDAY} to our wild man,  Colton James. This world is happier 

place because your in it buddy!

sweet lily 6 mo middle tennessee baby photographer

Meet the future baby gap model, Lily Marie.  Precious Precious 6 month old ANGEL.

Sweet mom Shauna, daddy Seth and I go back to the good 'ole Riverdale days.  These 2 lovebirds
were highschool sweethearts and today they are a family of 3.  I just love those Hallmark card,
sweet Lifetime movie type stories.  Anyway, Shauna was in for a quick family visit from Destin, FL.
She wanted to get some photos of her Princess and I am SO glad she called me to do it.

Sweet Lily was a true blessing to these two wonderful parents.  I won't go into details, but she is
here...she is healthy and she is loved like no other by her sweet mom.  I sure do hope it works
out that I get to photograph her again...and again...and again!  Getting to catch up with Shauna is
just an added bonus.  Hopefully I can make it down to Destin and get a FAMILY photo.

Loved meeting you sweet girl.  You are perfect in every way.

the little things

I made a promise to myself and my family that one of my main goals in 2010 was to capture my boys
lives like never before.  Not just when it was necessary {birthdays, holidays, special events} but in the
middle of the week when it was for no other reason but, "just because".  Today was one of those days.

Last week was a big week for us as you can read about here and here.  So, this week should be a bit more
relaxed, RIGHT??  Well, not so much.  See....we have the boys birthday party this weekend.  And,
although I don't go over the top there is SO much that has to be done.  {i.e. cake, their shirts {yes, if
you didn't already know...I sew} and making sure I am aware of who all is coming.  On top of all that
I am still a mom, a wife, a photographer, a designer and a homemaker.....I could keep GOING.

So, I took 15 minutes today to let the boys be silly in the bathroom sink.  Making silly faces.  They had
a ball.  And, although these images will win no prize in the technical world or whatever of photography
they win TOP prize in my heart.

party of 5 {almost} middle tennessee maternity photographer

Okay, so I always start with how I know people.....well, Emily & I went to High School together, even
graduated the same year!  We, however, didn't really {know} one another really well.  I have found
as I get older and I run into people from the past that I didn't know very well that I often wish I WOULD
have known them better.  Emily is no exception.  However, I do believe that people come in and out
of our lives for a reason.  And, now that we meet again...I believe, we were meant to {meet again} and
in this life.  Not 10+ years ago.  Make sense?

So, I 110% enjoyed getting to know her again and meeting her precious family.  Goodness, these kiddos
are darling.  And, have some of the cutest personalities I have ever come across.  Abby and William are
going to be fabulous older siblings to their soon to be baby brother.

I am so glad Emily trusted me and just went with it.  Hubby Brent was a trooper.  Taking mirrors down,
moving chairs, being the shade against the sun...I could go on!  Such a wonderful session and I am so
thrilled with how the images turned out.  And, even more excited that Emily LOVED the photos.

I want all moms to be to see just how beautiful they truly are when expecting.  It is such a wonderful
blessing and their beauty needs to be embraced!!

sweet brand girls middle tennessee children's photographer

Oh, 3 beautiful girls!  Sweet sisters....Rylee, Reagan & Presley!  It doesn't get much sweeter than this.

I know these precious girls mom.  She & I go back to the good 'ole Riverdale days.  So, it was so
wonderful to see her again after such a long time and meeting her family.

Rylee {big sis} is the sweetheart.  The seemingly quiet one, but protector.  She reminded me of how I
knew her sweet mom back in high school.  Reagan {lil sis} is the princess.  She loved dressing up in
her princess gown and put {pretty} spells on me.  I loved when she smiled.  She just lit up the room.
And, Presley {baby sis} is going to be the independent  & strong one.  She just sat back and watched
her mom and big sisters sing.  Just smiled and smiled.  She knew how much she was loved.

Such a special bond between these 3.  And, I am SO thankful to be able to see them often this next
year!!  See you sweet girls in 3 short months!!  Looking forward to watching you grow.

happy 1st birthday, colin! middle tennessee birthday photographer

This was such a special day for me.  Not to take anything away from one of my best friends, Amber and
her family!  But, I was able to capture sweet boy Colin's first birthday party as a dear friend.  See,
Amber & I are neighbors....great friends....soul sisters!  So, Colin is like a nephew to me.
Anyway, not to get all sappy....I am just GLAD that I could be there and capture moments that I know
they will cherish forever.  ...{with a big smile}

The theme was Dr Seuss.  And, artsy momma Amber didn't just start and stop with the cake...she
had amazing invites {she is the owner and creator of sweet life designs...YEP...you should check it
out here}, she dressed the part, decorated the house like a scene out of a magazine, green eggs and
ham for snacks...I mean I could GO ON and ON about how amazing she did with everything.

So, here are some of my favorites.  The day was surrounded by family and friends.  And, all you felt
the entire time was L.O.V.E.  {amazing}

ch...ch..ch.changes part II

Day 5!  We made it.  And, what a beautiful day to end such a crazy week!  We hit the not so 

{wonderful} hump Wednesday.  But, yesterday was amazing and today has been even better.

Potty training has been a success!!  TD was definitely ready.  And, both boys being in the same 

room has sorta-worked out.  Still an adjustment for big & lil bro.  {and for mom & dad}

So, here we are today.  The sun is SHINING, the weather is just right and it's Friday.

What could be better than that? 

I will be photographing a precious 3 month old princess, celebrating a dear friends sons

1st birthday and then seeing an old friend from high school who is expecting her 3rd blessing!

What a great weekend ahead.  Hope it's wonderful for all of you! {XO}

EXCITING news!!

I got an email from the sweet Carol Cowen {remember John Cowen the talented musician we
photographed last week you can see video footage of it here and some of the highlights here.}
Well, Carol is John's sweet & beautiful wife!

WELL, she emailed me to see if I would send the images below that I had taken of John so one may be
used for the booklet or for something with the publicity push for the cd either in April on later in the
year!  How exciting for SRP!!!

Can't wait to get the news to which avenue they chose for the image!!  This has just made my YEAR.

Thank you J & C for even considering the image.  It truly means the WORLD to this small town
girl trying to make it BIG!  {XO}

kinsley 3.5 months middle tennessee baby photographer

Meet this unbelievably adorable 3.5 month old DOLL, Kinsley.

I traveled south to Miss Kinsley's home yesterday.  It was my very first time meeting sweet mom Desiree.
Such a sweet mommy!  And, her home...I loved loved loved all the bright colors!  Felt like I walked
out of 30 degree weather into sunny Key West, Florida.  How nice, huh?

Sweet girl Kinsley was perfect.  First of all, it is very hard to NOT capture cute photos of a baby who
LOVES sticking her tongue out and blowing bubbles.  Seriously, the cutest thing ever.  And, it sure did
help that mom is an artsy momma and had made Kinsley the CUTEST flower headband.  Sorry folks,
the teal & black flower is ALL Kinsley's.  I know I know...maybe I can find something similiar for future
sessions.

Anyway, perfect Thursday photographing such a Princess.

Looking forward to seeing you in 3 short months sweet girl!  Don't grow too much!! {XO}

ch...ch..ch.changes

Big Big week in the Rose household.  Official potty training has begun and we moved both boys
into the same room.  WHY?  you ask....well, T & C are 14.5 months apart.  Practically twins.  And,
one won't go to sleep without the other soooo I thought it would be a grand idea to just "DO IT".

So, here we are day 3 and potty training has been successful.  Nights have been so-so, but we are getting
there.

These photos were taken this past weekend at my in laws.  It was my first day OFF from photography since
the New Year so we went to the one place I heart so much...the farm.  And, the boys...well, they acted
like we took them to disneyland!

Life is just going by so fast.  My baby Colton will be 2 in less than 2 weeks and it is soooo hard to believe.

So, my request to all for today is to get your camera out and take pictures of your kiddos just being kiddos.
Don't pose them...just get them at their {happiest} moment...whether it's while eating frosted flakes in the
morning, or while watching yo gabba gabba...or when your husband is sitting back reading them a bed time
story.  These are the moments we love to see but hardly ever {capture} so we may cherish forever.
So, just {DO IT}.  Regardless of how busy you are.  Then PRINT the photo.  Put it in a frame for your
desk at work or put it on your fridge if you stay home.  So, when that moment comes and you feel
overwhelmed LOOK at that photograph and I promise a big SMILE will come across your face.

gabby 4 months | middle tennessee baby photographer

Oh, I love me some sweet cheeks, big 'ole smiles & beautiful blue eyes!  Meet 4 month old Gabriella
{gabby}!  Is she just not the cutest girl?!!

I always ask my moms how they find me and almost 95% of the time they either know me or know me
through a good friend.  Well, Sarah was different.  She got my information from another sweet mom
who had posted my information on the bump.com!!  How exciting for SRP!!!

Anyway, I so enjoyed meeting this family and spending time photographing their precious family.
Can't wait to see them when Gabby is 8 month!!

quinn elise | nashville tennessee newborn photographer

Meet 13 day young Quinn Elise.  Is she not just a doll baby?!  Well, I tend to think ALL
new babies are dolls. :)

I photographed her family back in October of last year.  Check them out here.  Sweet mom
Jessica was really my first {official} maternity pics.  She was so tiny so you could hardly tell, but
sweet baby Quinn was well on her way.

I loved sitting back and just letting Quinn show her personality.  I believe that because of that and
not stressing too much over lots of details they might be some of my best.  Let babies be natural, let kiddos
be themselves, let models laugh, just let people BE and the most wonderful photographs will be
captured.
