{fun in the snow TAKE 2}

It happened...AGAIN....old man winter decided to swoop in and keep us land locked
I am sure for the rest of the weekend!!  Unfortunately that means I have had to post pone
3 sessions....BUT, it also means good times with the family in.the.snow!!

Here we are Friday around 1 pm...can't wait to see what a few hours bring and what fun
times we will {capture}.

{good news}

I got a call from a dear friend today who is the Event Director @ the Red House.  She asked if I could
pull a photo from my archives from the wedding I shot last year.  Check out Dan & Cindy

The image may be used in a publication for the Red House and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Still one of my all time fave's.  Just a {super special} moment captured in time.  Technically not the
BEST photo, but to me it was and still is perfect.  Can't wait to capture some wonderful moments
for all my bride's this year.  Good Times!!

{valentine's day}

Can you believe that sweetheart day is almost here?  Hard to believe.  Sure hope 2010 doesn't
FLY like 2009 did.

Anyway, if you love this holiday as much as the Rose family then you may just have a need for
pictures...a card perhaps??  IF YES!  I know someone....hmmm.  ME!  So, message me for info
if you are running last minute, but HAVE to have the perfect picture and card for someone.

My sweet cousin Rainee is the proud mother of this sweet 9 month old Angel!  Meet Sophia {aka Sophie}.
I started photographing her at 3 months and did some family shots of them for their holiday card when
she was 6 months.  Check out Chappell Familly.

She is getting bigger, still beautiful as ever and getting to be more mobile.  If I could guess she will be
walking really soon!!  Good thing too, because she is about to be a big sister to a sweet baby boy!
Jackson Cash will be here before we know it!  (can't wait to get my hands on that lil fella)

{sweet princess carson} | middle tennessee newborn photographer

My very first time meeting this sweet family!!

From the very first "hello" to the final "see you guys soon"...it felt like we were already friends.  I just love
that.  Sweet Carson is a D.O.L.L.  My first newborn Princess and I have to say I was in love at first
site.  Just look at her.  Goodness.

We had a few "special" moments that honestly I wouldn't have had go any other way.  Let's just say
sweet girl initiated me into the family and I am glad she did.  Big brother Jackson slept most of the time
but the few shots I got of him I realized I can't WAIT to get my camera in front of him and see him
come to life.

Can't wait to see you guys again in a few short months!!  Thank you {from the bottom of my heart} for
allowing me to be a BIG part of your lives.

Sweetness.

Remember Andrew?  This is his 7 day young baby brother William.  Just adorable.

This family has become family.  The honor they have given me to allow me to come into their home and
document their lives is just a true blessing.  I just know through the next year I am going to get even closer
to them.  At one point sweet Andrew came over and leaned close enough to me so I could kiss him on his
forehead.  I said...I guess I am now like an "Aunt Sara, huh?".  Just love them.

Little William was just perfect.  He just let us lay him on the floor, in the bean bag, in a basket and in a bucket
and could have cared less.  Just perfect.  I look forward to seeing him in a few short months and seeing how
much he has grown!  {hopefully not too much though}.

Last year the only place I would even consider shooting was outside.  But, 2010 is a new year.  I have

taught myself to use the natural light coming in from large windows, created an interchangeable back drop

(with the sincere help of my hubby) so clients have options and invested in some of the sweetest props.

First session of 2010!!  So glad to be back doing what I absolutely L.O.V.E to do.  And, what better
way to get back to it then to photograph 2 sweet sisters.

Meet 3 month old Allie.  beautiful. sweet. strong.
Meet 4 year old Emerson.  adorable. smart.  future doctor.  future rock star.  future artist.  future photographer.

I loved everything about this session.  It was fun, imaginative, and creative.  I love Emerson's mind and
I look forward to watching her grow and leap head first into her dreams.  And, I adore Allie.  Already
at 3 months and she sits up like a 6 month old.  Can only imagine what fun things we will do as the year
goes on.

See you girls in a few short months.  Don't grow up too much!!

reflections | {spread the love} workshop

I walk into a room of what I quite frankly would call photography “rock stars” yesterday to attend the {spread the love} 
workshop so amazingly given by Justin and Mary Marantz. A “Life” workshop about business, finances, world, self and 
personal life. I walked in there with (just like the rest of the room) a true deep passion for what we love. Photography. 
But, I didn’t bring the life experiences. I just brought heart. Thinking that wasn’t enough I was a ball of nerves until the 
first word out of Mary’s mouth was “If you are just getting started....I’m talking to you........because I’ve been there”.

After 6 intense hours of learning, crying & reflecting I sit back a different Sara. Humbled by how raw Mary’s emotions were 
and realizing that this dream I am chasing is in reach. Each and every photographer in that room has sat where I sit today. 
They have a dream, they leap & they believe that the net will appear.

We had a few assignments through the night.

First one being::

What defines me - - family. love. emotions. photography. being imperfect.

Next being write 10 goals for 2010 living a life you love - - {I only have a few...working on the rest} gain even more momentum 
to go after my dreams. go on that honeymoon terry & I never took. keep feeding my craft. take in as much knowledge from my
 peers as possible. document my boys lives like never before. create a successful & respectable brand. turn 30 and embrace it. 
be free of any debt.

At the end of the night she asked us to write our obituary and SHARE IT. Seriously? I thought. I don't know if I can do that. 
But, I did. Tears came down my face as each word was written on my notepad. Thinking about what I would leave behind. One 
day I may share what I wrote with all of you, but today I will just tell you that I sit a changed person. A better person. A 
better photographer because my heart is refreshed. My mind is focused. And, I BELIEVE now that my dream is in reach.

So, I want to sincerely say THANK YOU to Justin & Mary for what they gave to each of us. If they didn't walk in as one then 
every single person in that room walked out an Eagle last night.

other cuties I tend to not pick up the camera as much at home....since I have been on vacation for
a few weeks they have been my subject!  But, they are my numero uno inspiration.

Oh, how I love love love brand new babies!!  I will be photographing 3 (maybe 4) brand new babes
this month, {2} 3 month olds & {1} 9 month old....SO EXCITING.

And, to top it off I have a fun couples session scheduled Downtown Nashville at the end of the
month!.  Remember {Terry + Courtney}?  I will be photographing some of their great friends!  Oh
yeah....so excited to get back downtown for some fun....

But, FIRST...I will be attending the "Spread the Love" workshop by {Justin + Mary} on Thursday.  Look forward to learning A L O T.

So, I am here....appear to be "back"....and ready to capture to some special moments.
